Gold Beaded Bolero
Fully restored to it's original glory, this 1960s jewel encrusted Ferdinando Sarmi bolero is a spectacular couture piece. After serving as head designer for Elizabeth Arden until 1959 he opened his own New York salon in 1960. His collection included haute couture and ready-to-wear apparel. Embellished gold brocade with all over orange, turquoise and clear hand sewn beads and jewels this is a fine example of the Sarmi's couture pieces. Cropped with bracelet length sleeves. Orange and gold hand beaded fringe trim. Zipper up centre back. Bright orange silk lining. Made in New York. Very good vintage condition. Fits like a US size 4. This piece is heavy in weight and fragile. Care must be taken worn. A worthy investment piece. Small bag of extra beads included.
