Rare and very highly sought after  documented 1991 Chanel fig leaf belt. The belt features four layers of black leather and gold tone metal chain and two gilt metal fig leaves - the large in the centre and a smaller hanging. The belt is designed to sit on the waist, with the large fig leaf lying flat at the front of the hips. Fastens with a large hook and eye. The belt is marked collection 28, which was produced in 1991. The belt was featured 13 times in Karl Lagerfeld's Spring/Summer 1992 runway show in Paris. The S/S 1992 collection is one of the fashion houses most iconic moments and defined the 90's Chanel aesthetic. A magnificent piece of Chanel history in excellent vintage condition, from original owner, with no signs of wear. Sold with box. Made in France.
